DRU Fires, the Dutch-based manufacturer of contemporary gas fires, has announced a new range of electric fires to be launched in September 2006.

The DRU Electric Collection features four models: Azura, Cuba, Malta and Saba. The first 3 will offer a choice of front colours, with the Saba being a Slimline, frameless fire. All fires are available with logs or pebbles and some models can be combined with a range of classic fire surrounds.

The principle feature of the new DRU electric range will be its unique and very realistic flame pattern. Featuring LED technology and based on the patented DRU Vario Burner System®, the effect is said to be the closest yet to a gas flame, as well as having very low energy consumption.

The fires will have capacities of 2000 watts, sufficient for an average sized living room. And in common with all DRU fires they will be operated by remote control, including a dimmer function.
